Palestine, Holland Sign SDGs MOU

Counselor Eyad Tayyem and the Netherlands Court of Audit delegation visiting the Bureau, headed by Mr. Yan Van Dam, signed a memorandum of understanding.

MOU includes the Bureau membership to Sharaka Program, which increases interest in integrity, exchanges the best practices, reviews preparedness of governments to implement sustainable development goals (SDGs) in 7 Arab countries, and sets methods for future SDGs audits.

The MOU also intends to review preparedness of the Palestinian government to implement SDGs and institutional strengthening of SAIs through communication, relations among stakeholders, performance audit, control and guidance regarding public finance reforms, skills development and IT audit.

MOU was preceded by the first regional workshop held in the Hague, where a plan was set to review preparedness to implement SDGs by the government and oversee SDGs to stay in touch with the rapidly changing environment.

This program is carried out in cooperation with NCA and financed by the Dutch ministry of foreign affairs, and provides training for a special team in the Bureau to commence enforcement of agreement.
