SAACB, SAWASYA Program Discuss Cooperation

Counselor Eyad Tayyem and the technical expert in charge of the joint UNDP/Palestinian people assistance program, UN Woman and UN Children (SAWASYA) Mr. Fillipo De Carbanjna discussed means of cooperation, as part of meetings with the official Palestinian entities in order to develop the second phase, 2018-2022.

Counselor Tayyem pointed out leap introduced by the Bureau through audit findings and how to receive and deal with complaints. He reiterated the need to cooperate with donors and relations with counterparts, and mentioned the strategic plan titled ‘to make difference to lives of citizens’, which concentrates on services provided to the public by audited entities.

Mr. Carbanjna stated that the second phase of the project, titled ‘enhancing rule of law’, is entirely meant to increase justice, security and human rights in Palestine.

Mr. Carbanjna also said that this program, implemented 2014-2017, aimed at enhancing capacity of law institutions and public interest thereto., and increasing access to justice, security and protection services, especially by women. Intervention were designed so they bring sustainability and link activities to policy drawing at the system level.

The second phase of the project supports government institutions and CSOs in the field of justice, security and protection in order to increase access by Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, East Jerusalem included, to efficient, fair and accountable services.

The two parties agreed to hold subsequent meetings to set means of cooperation with the Bureau and capacity enhancement, being a basic partner in the institutional accountability and transparency increase.
