Tayyem: Palestinian-Dutch Cooperation Important for SDGs Preparedness Review

Counselor Eyad Tayyem reiterates at a meeting with delegation from Nederland Court of Accounts (international project managers Mr. Abdel al-Abbasi and Mr. Jan Van Dam) the importance to use SAIs experience in all audit fields. One of the matters discussed is the report to be released by SAACB team (Saleh Musleh, Lana Assi and Ala Eghrayyeb) on the Palestinian government preparedness to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Counselor Tayyem praised continuous support by NCA, and reiterated commitment to maintain Sharaka Program.

The Palestinian and Dutch teams held a series of meetings with several local stakeholders, such as Ramallah Municipality and the Palestinian Consultation Authority, to discuss strategic plans and SDGs link, and Palestinian CSOs contribution to implement SDGs 2030, all to review preparedness of the Palestinian government.

This mission intended to support SAACB in reporting preparedness to implement UN SDGs, where it evaluated preparedness of the Palestinian government in this stage to fulfill 2030 SDGs, using the 7 step model developed by INTOSAI, specifically the poverty-related SDG.

Basic findings and points of general preparedness review and findings of SDG 1 were discussed besides what SAACB wishes to achieve through the report, date and place of publication and target groups.

The mission concluded with a meeting with Counselor Tayyem and department managers to present action and expected findings.
